My parents bought me an apartment in July 2019. I immediately moved in.

Starting from the first day, I woke up with a nightmare and feeling as if I hadn’t slept at all. During the following days, the nightmares continued and I started experiencing unusually frequent headaches. I would feel a strange kind of pressure all around my body each time I returned to my apartment after spending some time outside, as if something in the air was compressing my whole body.

I attributed everything to stress and just went on with my life.

But symptoms kept getting worse every day; first came an extreme fatigue, pains in my back and legs. I moved to another bedroom. More symptoms appeared: strong headaches and sweats waking me up in the middle of the night. I started losing an insane amount of hair, I would pass my fingers through it and see it fall onto the ground in heaps, so much so that I was obliged to sweep the floors three or four times a day.

Then came nosebleeds, vertigo, a strange sensitivity to smells. My face looked constantly tired and my skin had become greyish. My wounds wouldn’t heal anymore. I started being so weak I could barely stand, I would wake up feeling dizzy and disoriented, and my brain wouldn’t be able to compute unless I had four or five coffees, and only several hours after getting up. I started losing interest in cooking and eating; I just didn’t have the strength to take care of it. I had to make notes for the silliest things, as my short-term memory had completely disappeared.

One day, I realized I was having even more serious cognitive issues. I had difficulty finding words. I would have to read the same sentence over and over again just to be able to make sense of it. Depression had already set in. At about the same time, I also realized I had impaired vision, and my eyes were constantly red and dry.

Three months after I had moved in, I woke up with two swollen lymph nodes which weren’t there the night before. That couldn’t be “just” stress. I listed all my symptoms on a sheet of paper, did some research online, and saw that other people were going through the same issues I was experiencing. I started thinking that electromagnetic fields might be involved.

One night, I moved the whole furniture in my bedroom, so that my pillow would rest against a different wall. The following morning I woke up with no headache. That’s when I understood something in my house was definitely making me sick, and I had to go away.

There’s a phone mast 150 m from the apartment, directly facing my bedroom. I later bought meters and checked the radio-frequency levels in my bedroom, as well as low-frequency electric and magnetic fields on the wall where my bed was: all the readings showed huge levels right at the pillow location, and in many other places in the apartment. I had lived in an extremely high electromagnetic field for three months.

I packed a few things and moved to my parents’ house.

Starting from the the following morning, I woke up with no headache, feeling more relaxed and able to do practical things. My mind was clear again, no brain fog anymore, no physical weakness.

I thought the issue was solved and kept living a “normal” life, using my laptop computer for hours, touching cables and so on. I had switched the Wi-Fi off and started using an Ethernet cable. During the following weeks, though, new symptoms emerged. I started feeling bad each time I was working on my MacBook Pro. One day I was cooking and suddenly felt nausea, pain in my head, tachycardia and dizziness, and had to lie down for several hours before being able to stand again. I checked the electric levels right where I had been cooking, and I found several hundreds Volts coming from the wiring inside the wall.

A few months have passed. I have to sleep with the main breakers off, I can’t get close to the kitchen wall were the sink and gas stove are for more than a few minutes at a time, I can’t use my cellphone for anything more than strictly necessary calls, I cannot even use a corded phone, because the router is transmitting lots of low and high frequencies to it. I tried grounding the router but symptoms got worse, probably due to heightened dirty electricity. I have turned all Wi-Fi devices off including my printer, I disconnected all unnecessary electrical appliances and lamps and I only use my cell phone if I absolutely have to. I spend my evenings in front of a fireplace, with the main breakers off, and that’s the only time my body recovers a little bit. Being in nature also is a blessing for my health, but I can’t do this anymore.

In fact, a short car trip made me rush to the cardiologist’s with symptoms similar to those of a heart attack. As a result, I can no longer drive and all other symptoms have worsened to the point I couldn’t use my USB keyboard anymore. Changing keyboards helps for some time, until the body gets sensitized to the new frequencies. I am typing this message on a new USB keyboard I bought a couple of days ago; I know I will only be able to tolerate it for a few more days. I am looking into shielding solutions for all my devices, so as to be able to work again. I know it will be an uphill battle. I do not intend to give up.
