In this chapter, we will bring a list of Studies about Cellular towers, Health effects, and Cancer.
The exposure to RFR from cell tower differs from the exposure to RFR from cellphones. It lacks the low frequency and mid-frequency electric and magnetic fields that is also emitted from cellphones, it is mostly High Frequency(HF) electric field, in different frequencies between 500MHz (Tetra) up to 2150MHz (up to 4G, 5G is expected to have frequencies up to 6GHz emitted from the antennas to the users). The exposure from the towers is multi-frequency (as there are lots of frequencies emitted from the towers).
The exposure from the cell tower is a “all body exposure”, and not mostly exposure to the head or hand or pocket as in smartphones.
The Exposure to the HF RFR is reduced as the distance between you and the antenna becomes greater. Building and other obstacles between you and the antenna reduce the exposure as well. In addition, the exposure to RFR from a cell tower is chronic, 24X7, and other than using RFR protection, you can’t control it, and your ability to reduce it is very limited.
The measurable levels of RFR from cell towers are usually lower than what will be measured from a GSM phone, but as we said, there are more frequencies, and the exposure is all body, 24X7.
Today, the exposure to RFR have grown to be very wide, not only from tower but also from personal devices(cellphones, smartphones, tablets, smartwatch, laptops), home wireless devices (WIFI routers, smart TV, other wireless electronic devices) and also other infrastructure as smart meters, water meters, gas meters, DVBT, and others. The increase of RFR exposure from all kinds of different sources and infrastructure makes it harder to pinpoint a cell tower as the cause of health effects in today’s studies. But we do have studies from before the time RFR was so present in everybody’s lives. We will focus on these studies.
