The ENV RD10 has a rechargeable battery. After several years of use, it might malfunction. The first sign for this misfunction is that it will be slightly swollen.
If this happens to your meter, you can change the battery according to the following instructions, DIY or by taking it to an electronic technician.
A. You need to open the case, to do that you place a flat screwdriver in the location of the pic below and then you can release the right side
B. Once the right side is released, you place the screwdriver on the top as in the pic below, and release the upper part. After that, the case should be easily opened.
C. The battery is connected via a connector to the board, see below:
D. In order to release that connector, you need to push gently with a screwdriver on the connector where the battery connector is attached to the onboard connector, see below:
E. The battery itself is connected to the board via a double-sided adhesive tape, so you can just remove it.

G. Simply change the old battery with the new one, and close the meter when first closing the side with the 2 switches.
